changing, editing and creating gdm themes

Hi all,

recently i have been wanting to change my gdm but as im learning linux i also want to learn how to create them i understand the basics of editing them by swapping files around but that really only works for the gdm background what i would like to do is e able to edit the username and password modules and possibly create them from scratch does anyone know how to do this or if the are any gui tools available to help me do this

In the process...

Unfortunately, there are no GUI tools for point-and-click editing of the GDM Theme as of yet.

However, the official GNOME documentation explains the different parts of the GDM theme. Its biggest problem though is its lack of visuals to explain the content.

PS. I am also in the process of writing a beginner's tutorial/manual for GDM theming (with pictures).
I will give you the link as soon as I find that it is ready.
