changing display managers
Hey all, I'm running Slackware 9. I recently changed to the Gnome desktop, but it is still using another display manager (kdm I think) and I would like to use gdm as my display manager. what changes do I need to make to do this? I've been looking around the net for 'changing display manager' etc but found very little.

thanks for any help.

(I posted this in the general forum, and got nothing, so I may as well try here :s)

Check out

Basically, check your runlevel in /etc/inittab. Then, go to /etc/rc.d/rc.<runlevel>, figure out which file is starting kdm/xdm/... (using 'grep .dm *') and edit it according to the instructions provided in the link. All it should take is changing the file being executed.
