Changing Console Resolution

I recompiled my kernel from 2.4.31-> recently, and everything went smoothly (or at least I found out how to fix it) except that after the reboot the resolution in the console (not KDE, but the console console) was much small (ie bigger letters). This is probably a stupid question with an easy solution, but how do you change the console resolution?

try adding something like vga=788 to your boot line...for example, mine, in grub looks like this:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hdb2 ro vga=788 hdc=scsi
oh yeah...there are no stupid questions...only stupid answers sometimes
