Where are you trying to install additional lan card? I did not understand you. Squid is not mandatory for internet sharing. iptables are enough. If you want caching at your end you can use it but you can do without it if you want.

hi
It is working now, I ran the NAT commands from the 2nd PC on the LAN which is now directly connected to the MTNL modem and it is working beautifully now. Thanks everyone.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/In...nectionSharing was very useful
Oh, I love Linux. My heart broke when the networking guy asked me to install Windows on all the PCs to solve my problem.
Any links where I can download antiviruses for ubuntu
regards
Aarav

ClamAV is available in the repositories in Synaptic. You can use it. You can also integrate Clam with squid, if you have it installed, to check for virus infected pages passing through.

Internet to my LAN is again down today
The main PC and 2nd PC on LAN which are directly connected to MTNL modem gets internet
And when I turn on the LAN switch which connects the 2nd PC with the rest of the LAN, the net stops. The net restarts when I switch off the LAN switch
Kindly help
regards
Aarav
