Changed modems: eth0 cant find IP address

We currently changed from cable to DSL. Before the switch I was running Fedore Core2 and everything worked fine. After the switch I cant get a connection. I was thinking that I need to update my I.P. address but I dont know how that is done.
thanks

Furthermore, the reason you need to change the network configuration is that DSL uses a different protocol then cable. The most common is pppoe ( Point to Point Protocol over ethernet).
