change the boot prompt

Hi... i need to change the boot screen in one of my ttys... I am trying to change the /etc/inittab but i can't do it..

I have created my own program with its own login proceduree.... I just want my programme's boot screen appears....

In the /etc/inittab file i am trying to change the lines with the agetty
/sbin/agetty 38400 tty1 linux

I have tried the -l and -n parameters but nothing appears.. Can u give me plz a solution to my problem?
