Change text in a file, Android, possible?

Hi, i have heard that many commands that work in Linux work on android so my question if it is possible to change a file like this

The script should work like this.

Su
Cd/data/data/map/
Open zk.dat
Edit text <zk_cp>1-6</zk_cp>
Paste text <zk_cp>6</zk_cp>
Save
Exit

The number can vary from 1-6. Hope you understand!
P. S I'm a totally Linux noob
Thanks in advance :-)

I never tried, but whether possible or not, first you will have to "root" your Android phone. That means will have to, erm, sort of "crack" it in order to gain root (administrator) access. How to do that varies greatly according to exact brand and model of each phone. You will probably have to try and find that information on Google.

Android has very few terminal commands and really messedu up permissions. Eg I couldn't create a symlink in my "home" directory pointing to the sd card, although I have write permissionson both. If you want some more terminal functionallity you can try Terminal IDE app which has some more utilities, and try rooting your device. But still it won't be much. (Posted from android 4 tablet using firefox nightbuilds :) )

There's an androidquestions sister-site for this kind of question, BTW. You'll find the link at the top right of the page.
