Change printer for Mozilla

I can only get a "generic printer" recognised by Mozilla (and Ximian Evolution) - I can't get my HPdj840C recognised. I can set it up for Open Office (using spadmin and footmatic+hpijs). I'm using (learning to use!!) RedHat Linux 9

What's the trick?
Thanks
BrianZA

Yes, the printer works as a "generic" when printing an email under Ximian Evolution (or web page under Mozilla) - but it does not have the functionality that the same printer has when it prints a document under OpenOffice. For example I can't choose to print in a "draft" mode.

This is despite loading it as an HP840C from the Gnome desktop which says it will be using the hpijs driver. The OpenOffice prog allowed me to sign up the printer using foomatic+hpijs ... so somewhere here there must lie the solution!

But thanks for the tip: I'll look up what HP has to say on their site. (Phoning the local HP people yields nothng!)

If you folk have any other ideas, I'd be grateful
Cheers

Have you visited LinuxPrinting.org? IMO that's the single best resource for printing under Linux, and contains a huge amount of useful info and tutorials. If you haven't yet checked it out, it may be useful. Good luck with it -- J.W.
