Change notification
 

I use nagios to monitor the server , I have added 50 servers to it and I receive alert notification frequently , I would advise the following , would advise how to change it ? thanks in advance.

1) change to receive the notification one time only rather than get the notification each time when Nagios found any error ;

2) I would like to get the notification of a specific servers out of these 50 servers ( not from all servers)

Hi Byran.

For case 1. You can reduce the frequency the notification period by increasing the notification interval. Or you create a new time period for sending notification on particular time only.

For case2. You have to create a new host template with a contact/contact group. Then use the same host template name in the host definations. And remove the generic host template from all the host defination OR remove the contact/contact group from the generic host template.

There are lot of ways to do these.

for question 1 , what I would like to do is not change the interval , I just would like to send the same alert one time only , rather than repeatly send the same alert mail , what advise what can i do ? thanks

I think that you cant do that in nagios. You have to use external script or external tool for getting notification.
