Change localhost name in username@localhost


If anyone know's of the top of there head please let me know where to start. I have done a modest search through google and have turned up no explanation to how this is accomplished.

Well its off to bed.

I think you can change it by running the "hostname" command. On some distros you may have a gui app to change this.

Which context is this in? If you mean the prompt, on RH FC3 it's defined in /etc/bashrc.

I don't think n175uj was talking about the prompt, but the name of the computer.
