change linux user display name
 

hi,

my linux account's username is johns. when i enter the finger command, i receive "john smith." a while back i entered a command so i can change the user display name. i forgot what i used because i need it again.

i don't think its usermod because i tried it just now and it didn't work.

any help?!?!
