hi people, i have a problem.. im trying to install gain on my computer, but when the installation begins, it asks for my installation disc. the problem is that the default drive is my cdr/rw drive and my install disc is a dvd... i have an external dvd r/rw that can read the install disc but when the installation asks for the disc, it spits out my cdrw drive (mnt/cdrom) and says its "Please insert the medium named "Installation DVD " on device [/dev/hdd] "
my external dvd says it is located at mnt/sr0..
now my question is how do i change the default drive to be the external drive?
Okay what is the device thats mounted to /mnt/sr0 ( check /etc/fstab ) ? are you sure its /dev/cdroms/cdromsr0 ? it might be something else say /dev/hde ? or /dev/scd0 ? Besides that the rm and ln command look correct.
