change charset in slackware v11

hello. i have just installed slackware 11 a few minutes ago for the first time
but i have one problem.. not only in the console, but also in KDE the charset is not the one that i use! how can i change it? thanks.

If, as you're saying, you have KDE, that means that xorg is also installed. You can specify charset by typing
setxkbmap lv
where 'lv' is your charset definition. 'lv' stands for Latvian, so if you need Polish charset it'll be 'pl'. That's up to you.
