Change background color
Hi
How can I change the background color(instead of the normal white color) of my terminal everytime I execute a file to make the contents of the file look more interesting? Do I have to change anything in the settings or add extra lines to the file that I have created? Thanks!! |
Which terminal are you using?

i'm using a normal terminal, from red hat linux 9, the one we can choose from the GUI, is that what you mean?my file is created with the vi editor..

Are you using Gnome, KDE or.........? There are many different terminal programs.
For example I am using Slackware with Windowmaker and use Aterm for my terminal. |
I'm using Gnome, i suppose ;)

Ok, so I am assuming you are using gnome-terminal. Open the terminal window and select help; should be a subsection called "Preferences" srcoll through that. There should be two catagories that will interest you colours & effects.
