centos installation error


Hi
i reinstall my centos5.3 from cd during installation i manuaaly create partition and proceed but my formating my partition take 5 hours as i see in other terminal writing inodes tables is very slow it take 5 hours after 5 hours it is done but after that it shows error mounting sda2 as/: invalid argument this most likely means this partition has not formatted press ok to reebot,this process i make 2 times still shows above error

i have scsi h/d as it means that my h/d is damaged pls reply its urgent

i not sure what is your problem cause but happen to me before, which i added new big tera disk to the old system to replace 80 gb disk, then i use to try with 120 gb disk and working w/o any problem

just that system not accept big disk, so i suggest you to try little smaller from that problematic disk

You said you are reinstalling... is it on the same drive? Any specific reason why you are reinstalling the same OS on the same drive? Did you have issues with the previous installation? Do you have another disc you can try?
This looks like hardware failure to me. I think replacement looks like the only way out... however I am not certian if the drive is gone bad or something else (like motherboard) is gone bad.
Try booting with a live cd. If the cd boots up then we can say that that drive is gone bad.
One option I can suggest is do not manually partition the drive. I believe centos has the option of checking for bad blocks before installation - use that option and see if that works.

hi

problem solved i reconnected the drive connecter and my problem solved really i dont beleive it i reinstall the centos
