CentOS driver for Fujitsu 3490A

I have a Fujitsu 3490 Stacker Tape drive that I am trying to connect to a Linux server running CentOS 5.3. Is there a driver I need? Can anyone help with the step-by-step on how to get the system to see this drive. I am pretty sure it is HVD and I have it plugged into a separate SCSI channel. Terminator is green. Thanks.

Do you have the cartridge loader?
I assume that all the SCSI subsystem modules are being loaded so the only thing that you might need to load in addition is the st module. The device ID should be /dev/st0 and you can look at the output of the dmesg command to see if CentOS is recognizing the drive.

The console command to load the st module:
modprobe st (you must be root)
