Centos & Screen Problem

Well before moving to my own dedicated box on another host (previously on a VPS box) I installed 'screen' 3 times on 3 different accounts and they all worked great.

I'm now on my dedicated box, can't get the sucker to install. It says in 'ps x' that it's there, I type 'which screen' nothing comes up (as root) but says can't find screen or whatever in 'su username'.

bash-2.05b$ which screen
which: no screen in (/usr/local/jdk/bin:/usr/kerberos/sbin:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/root/bin)

I installed the way I did using VPS, i've tried installing about 5 times so far; so frustrated at the moment.

The OS is: Centos 3.5

Running SSH through putty....

Anymore information let me know, hope you can help me!

I didn't create the second account using 'adduser' I simply used the website account username...if that makes sense....and I 'su webaccountname' and tried installing the screen in the /username/ folder (the one before public_html of course) - and when that didn't work; I simply tried install screen using the root account in /home/webaccountname/

These are the steps I did,

wget http://URL

tar -zxvf screen-4.0.2.tar.gz

cd screen-4.0.2

If thats gives any more light on the situation...
