CentOS
Hello,
I just installed the latest version of CENTos but my Network card is not being recognized by the OS. I tried the commands ifconfig and lspci but it says that those commands don't exist. :( please help! Motherboard ASUS PK5KPL-CM |
What sort of network card is it?
BTW, both ifconfig and lspci live in /sbin. If you're trying to run them as a regular user, use their fully qualified names. |
I typed SU and entered the root password to run the commands but they didn't work so I logged off and logged in a ROOT which is NOT recommended. ok Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114.
Thanks |
To get root's full environment, use:
Code:
$ su - |
ok, and I tried what you mentioned about the commands and yes they worked that way. do you know how to change that and be able to run it without entering the PATH? thx
I like CentOS so far.. :D |
lol thanks. you just answered my question!
ahahhaha |

'lspci' is a user command too : /sbin/lspci 'su' will do for .. 1) # system-config-network 2) # /sbin/ifconfig |
...

lol I switched to Ubuntu 9.10... it just works find out of the Box. hehehe I installed Fedora 12 on my laptop and I might mess around with CentOS on my other PC that I have.
