CentOs 6 wireless problem
Hi all
I have a strange problem. I was using wirless (Broadcom BCM4312 on Dell Vostro 1510).
OS is CentOS 6 uname -r gives 2.6.32-71.el6.i686. It was working fine until I updated some packages.I am unable to recollect the packages I updated.
The wireless stopped working after that and is showing Wireless Disconnected when clicking on NM applet on top right. Wireless card is listed as eth1 instead of wlan0

I did lsmod | grep wl and it shows wl, cfg80211 and lib8021 loaded.
I removed the modprobe wl from the rc.local it still gets loaded. Kindly help me get out of this mess and my wireless working.
Best regards

You don't by chance have a list of the packages you updated last, do you?

Could you give the output of ifconfig (needs to be run as root)?

I had a broadcom 43xx card in my old laptop, I used ndiswrapper for it, but that was before broadcom started opensourcing their linux drivers. However, your kernel might be old enough that it was released before that (in fact, I'm pretty sure it is).
