Centos 6.5
Good Day
I have installed Centos 6.5 on a live server since I am new to Linux I installed the minimum package but would like to upgrade to the full package without rebuilding the server is this possible. Please advise on how to do this. Thanks Kind Regards Anwar Khan |
Hi Anwar,
Did you try to search on google for "update centos minimal to full?" There are several very good hits. Give that a try and then ask any specific questions that might arise. :) |
Assuming you have the necessary repos, you can simply yum install the stuff you want. It will be a lot leaner and meaner instead of installing a full package which will most likely include stuff that you not even use.
So like for a LAMP stack you could do yum install httpd php mysql mysql-server |
Good Day
Can some please help me, Centos 6.5 does not start up this morning after I log in I have a black screen with any profile that log on with I get this error before logging in, NGOME power management not installed correctly please contact your administrator, I am the administrator but new to Linux , over the weekend there was a power failure and sql services did not start-up, we tried to start up some services this morning without any luck, could this be due to the low disk space on the server. please help urgently. Thanks Kind Regards Anwar Khan |
