CentOS 5.6 can connect to internet, but can't display websites or SSH
 

I wasn't sure to post this either in Server or Newbie, but I'm just hoping I can get an answer for my question.

I am running CentOS 5.6, and for the last two weeks or so I've had my website, ftp and SSH working flawlessly. I could tunnel in, put documents on the server, and display everything without a hitch. I woke up this morning, trying to connect to the server, with no avail. I can only connect to my SSH by using the interior IP address.

I didn't change anything last night, and when I am on the server itself, it can connect to the internet.

Have you looked in the log files for more info? I don't use CentOS but as a starting point I'd look in /var/log for the syslog, messages, secure and ftp (vsftpd?) logs. The Apache logs might be there as well or they may be somewhere like /usr/local/apache2/logs

Then some issue for sure.

In a normal install I'd say reboot.

But sure restart your servers http and such.

Guess you could check that your ip and dns is the correct ones if you are using a FQDN. Try the IP address in the browser line.

Can anyone else get to the site?

I restarted HTTPD and the server in general. I checked the logs, and to be honest, I'm better versed in *BSD, so I checked the log files that I would assume would be the culprits, but nothing seemed out of order.

I just typed in the IP address of the server into the browser and I got a "Connection has timed out" error. No one else can access the sites, the server is down for everyone.

I have all the needed ports forwarded.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like you have a LAN (at home ?) and you used to be able to connect to your web server from outside ie the internet, and now you can't.
You can only connect to it from inside your LAN.
You can connect out to the internet.

If that's correct,

1. check the web server is actually up.
2. TBH, it sounds like your external IP provided by your ISP has changed. Unless you've paid for a static IP. that will happen, sooner or later.
