centos 5.4 can connect to the web


Dear Linux users,
while i enter the following address
wget http://packages.sw.be/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release 0.5.2-2.el5.rf.i386.rpm
on centos 5.4 i get the following error
Resolving packages.sw.be... failed: Name or service not known.
wget: unable to resolve host address `packages.sw.be'

while i enter the following address
wget http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/wget/wget-1.5.3.tar.gz
i get the following error
Resolving ftp.gnu.org... 208.118.235.20, 2001:4830:134:3::b
Connecting to ftp.gnu.org|208.118.235.20|:80... failed: Connection refused.
Connecting to ftp.gnu.org|2001:4830:134:3::b|:80... failed: Network is unreachable.

the server can not connect to the web, please help me

Location: Earth? I would say I hope so but I'm not so sure about that... I could just be a figment of your imagination too.

I'm not surprised your getting an error, so am I... "Server not found", to be more precise.

Why are you still using CentOS 5.4? The latest version of CentOS is 7.4, I'd suggest you upgrade to it and use known **good** online software repositories instead.
