Cd-rom wont mount!
 

Right I have 2 problems. I have just bought Linux Redhat 7.2 as ive finaly got fed up of windows unreliability. Unfortunatly Linux wont let me mount my cd-rom drive it just says ''mount:dev/cdrom is an invalid block device" I got the cd-rom working a previous time when I installed it, but it wont work now. Also with windows I used to use msn messenger, is there a linux version available?

might want to search this site about the invalid block device.. asked a couple of days ago a couple of different times with members..
as for the msn, you can use GAIM or LMME which is a command line interface.. there is also another that is just for MSN but can't think of the site.. but your best one to use is GAIM..

Try running as root depmod -ae and see if that fixes the cdrom problem.
