Have you tried unmounting it before you try to eject?

right clicking the icon doesn't give the unmount option, the error is "Eject /misc/d failed!" misc/d is the cdrom

1. Make sure you have no programs open which might be using or "looking at" the contents of the CD-ROM; if you do, the system will assume the CD-ROM is busy and refuse to eject it.

2. As Glock said, open a terminal window (making sure you aren't in the CD-ROM's mount directory) and issue the following command:

eject

The eject command will automatically attempt to unmount any removable media before ejecting it. If you get an error from the eject command, tell us exactly what it is.

try renaming the cd back to what it orginally was

then issue the above commands or try

umount /misc/d or umount /dev/cdrom (or whatever device u use)

in an terminal, try logging in as root, do su -, and issue the commands above

anyway, if all else fails, just reboot your computer; the kernel will have to force a umount anyway
