cd player plays in rh 9 but no sound even with full volume

cd player plays in rh 9 but no sound even in full volume... what could be the issue here??

but after i installed rh9, on the part where it tests my sound hardware, i heard a sound (so that means that my sound hardware is working fine , right?)... or maybe not

can you play other types of music files, for example an mp3? Does that have sound?

This will tell you if it is a software issue (eg the ALSA support isn't working) .
