CD/DvD roms

ok im kind confused im tryed to put mandrake 10.1 on my comp but the installer said it cant fing my cd rom. I have trying to find a linux that best fits me and all the other didnt have any problem. it also has some problems with my floppy drive.

i really want to get this to work but ya im a

Do you have multiple CD roms and/or did it ask you where your CD-ROM is? I would be /dev/hdc if it's primary on second IDE channel which is most common.
