hey druuna,
thanx for the reply. i installed the mplayer but when i try to play a mp3 file i get a message "Due to paptent licencing, and conflicts between such patent licences and the licences of application source code MPEG -1/2 audio layer 3 (mp3) support has been removed from this application by Red Hat Inc. " what should i do? |
Hi,
Get mad about the whole patent issue that's going on, sign every petition there's is against this nonsense......... Ok, that said: Try downloading mplayer from the official site (try an older version if mp3 is taken out). |
You can get working third party packages for Redhat from freshrpms. Download apt and synaptic for your distro and then use them to install or remove packages. The Redhat 9 packages are no longer maintained because its now a discontinued/legacy distro.
