cd burner recomendations

I'm having some trouble getting gtoaster to work. I'm running RH8.0 on a P2 old compaq presario. Whenever I try to use gtoaster it looks for the scsi drive- which I do not have. I need to configure it to look on the IDE. Is there a download with a cd burner program that will work better than the gtoaster? Thanks for your help.

most cd burner apps are written to support scsi drives. what you need to do is pass something like hd*=ide-scsi to your kernel. assumig you have scsi and scsi emulation support compiled this will allow the app to find the scsi drive it is looking for. your drive will then be sd*.

If you are still interested in other CD burners...
There are a bunch of CD/DVD burners I grep thru the years.
See

http://www.websamba.com/Linux_Docs_Links
-> softwares
-> CD/DVD Burning

Can't really recommend any, although I use CD Writer
which comes with my Xandros 2.0, and I used to use
CD Xroast w/o any problem a few years back.

I like k3b, easy to use, and easy to install.
