cd audio problems
 

i just recently setup a dual boot with XP and RH9. the past few days i haven't been getting any cd audio. i've tried both the console and gnome - everything indicates that the cd is playing (track info shows up and counts). i ran sndconfig and everything was fine - and the sound works for everything else (games, etc) - aumix is not muted. i've seen many posts similar to this, but mine seems different because it DID work about 5 days ago - when i first tried the console 'cdplay' program. everything worked fine then!? being a newbie i'm not sure where to go next. any suggestions are most appreciated.
