cat results on new lines


If I use cat -n >newfile.txt

I get 6 lines in a row in the .txt file (1 yadayada 2 yadayada 3 yadayada etc)

How can I get the results in new lines???

1 yadayada
2 yadayada
3 yadayada

im lost

mm..use textpad instead of notepad..problem solved:-)
