Cant shutdown laptop Ubuntu 12.04
Im having a problem were if my laptop is unplugged and running on the battery. when i go to shutdown the laptop all it does is restart, but when the laptop is plugged in it will shutdown as normal
im running ubuntu 12.04 and i have a sony vaio f series |
Try booting with ACPI disabled.
You can do this by appending acpi=off to the grub bootline entry starting with kernel. |
disabling acpi does not work, i also tried to disable acpi threw the bios wich failed aswell
|
what happens if you shutdown from the terminal i.e. the command "shutdown -h now" or "halt".
|
when i use the command "shutdown -h now" or "halt" it seems like its going to shut down but it starts right back up again
|
thanks guys for the help but i found that removing laptop-mode-tool fix's my problem
