Cant play CD/VCD on XMMS
 

Cant play any CD or VCD on XMMS. *confused*
How do I go about to bring up XMMS to play CD /VCD on XMMS?
I'm using DSL 0.8.2.
I tried right click on the desktop, apps, sound, xmms, xmms play cd--> Failed.

Can someone guide me thru the steps?.. :rolleyes:

Not sure about the VCD thing, but I may be able to help you with the CD problem.

One thing that may be the problem is that you may need to enable digital audio extraction. To do this, open xmms -> right click on title bar -> options -> preferences. Under input plugins, select CD audio player then configure. Now you should see a box saying "play mode:", pick digital audio extraction and okay, then okay again.

This option uses up more memory than analog, but it works. If you have more problems, just ask. Hope this helps.

XMMS doesn't play video. Give Xine a shot.

Are you mounting your audio cd? If so, that's your problem. Just pop it in and try XMMS.
