Unhappy cant plat ANY audio/vid files on yellowdog

im completely new to any linux os. i just installed a copy of yellowdog 6.1 on my ps3 and cant get any audio/video files to play. ive tried loading plugins but cant find any so as the manual suggested i tried realplayer. i installed it but no icon,and when i try to open a file with it nothing happens....also cant install any thing from the secondary disk.can anyone help a newbee that only(so far) knows how to operate microtrash windows? any help will be apreciated..thanks.

You say you've tried loading plugins and have used a manual. Could you either link us to this manual, or walk us through what you have done? I suppose I'd better ask, did you follow thr manual to the letter? Every step?

i cant link to manual as it is made of paper.manual doesnt say how to get audio/video running,says yd6 doesnt play mp3 files by default download realplayer(and gives realplayers address).i downloaded,opened the pacage,clickec on realplayer.exe,seemed to load right and its on the sound and video list but wont open,either by clickin on it or trying to open a file with it.and as for plugins i click on the "add plugin"icon on the firefox panel when prompted,and it says there are no known plugins...(btw. fixstars shipping guy who sent me this manual said it was for an older version of yellowdog,so it might be useless)
