I couldn't find /etc/network/interfaces (is that a folder or a file?) but I played with some settings in Fedora's Network Settings GUI and I'm assuming that it saves the changes to a config file somewhere. I'd like to find it. I switched to a static IP and entered in the gateway and subnet mask, and I couldn't get online. When I reverted back to DCHP, it worked!? I hope I can figure out what to learn from all this.

that is the nature of ndiswrappers. they are extreemly unstable and suck. sadly for most wifi cards out there that is what we are stuck with. make sure to send an e-mail to the maker of that card asking for Linux drivers. i have sent off several dozen over the past few months to Linksys asking for support. their auto responder is kind enough to every few weeks ask for more feedback as i keep the ticket open, thus every few weeks it is in front of CSR or TSR.
doubt it will work, but the more linux users asking for proper drivers will eventually get thier attention, one can hope. |
