cant longin to suse 10

Hi there.

I have had trouble logging into suse 10 as of today. I went to fix an error that i had with kaffeine player and someone pointed me to this website http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/254/42/

I didnt read that it was for suse 10.1 and installed the packages that i didnt have installed. I didnt have 3 of these that it suggested i install.

Required packages

Most of the steps below demand that the following packages be installed:

* gcc
* make
* kernel-source - didnt have*** ONLY ONE INSTALLED.
* kernel-syms - didnt have
* kdeadmin3 - didnt have
* compat-expat1
* expat

Check the YaST Software Manager to see if they are installed. If they are not, install them and continue with these directions when you are finished.

So i started to install kernel-source, i finished downloading and then realised that it was for 10.1. I stopped and didnt install the other 2 but it was to late.

I could not access home and then programs started to not work and wouldnt start properly.

When i restarted and tried to get back on my computer i could not log on. It was suggested to me that i go to install and go other when it asked what install. Then i tried to repair the damage.

I picked automatic and when it had finished i was still not able to logon to suse10. I also tried using the root account but to no avail. It gets in loads 2 things and then the screen goes black and then reverts back to the logon screen.

Could someone please help me as i love suse/linux and do not wish to go back to horrible windows. I'm a noob and have only been using linux for one week now.

Thanks for any help.
