Cant Login
 

I am a first time user and just installed Mandraks linux 9.2 and I cannot login as user, or anything I didnt even set a password etc so how do I get to the linux desktop!

So you can login as root without password because you dont set it. Do it. And add normal user.

how do you log in as root? i'm using rh9 kernel 2.4.20-8

When the login prompt comes up type in "root" without the quotes and hit enter if you are prompted for a password just hit enter

Set a password for root soon as you can.
