Can't launch X apps when 'su'd as another user

When I try and launch an app as another user, I get the :

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server

message. What should I be doing? I don't want to have to log out and in again as another user...

Before you switch user, try to type this command in the console :
Code:
xhost +localhost
