cant install the fedora3 in my pc


hello to everybody,

i m a new user of fedora3,
i have a pc of dell with os winXp,
i know very little about fedora ,just know install,

recently i want to install the fedora to my pc
but i cant .

but i have more free space in sata harddisk of samsung,

and in the bios the harddisk is show up.

but at the time of installation there something about the driver what is those r not understood by me so olese any one help me to install the fedora under this circumstances

thanks a lot for hleping

fedora3 is ancient and unsupported and no doubt doesn't have support for your hardware. Download Fedora 8 and try that.

How do people even get a hold of these legacy OSs?

Installing Fedora 3 (vs. Fedora 8 [or equivalent]) is comparable to installing Windows 95 instead of Windows XP. Why you would install Windows in the first place is beyond me, but that's just a timeline comparison.

Indeed.....The most common seems to be RedHat 9.

I think there are many old books around that came with CDs. I had a large pile of Linux CDs which I thought I might sell at a yard sale. Sanity prevailed and I destroyed them.

If you have broadband internet access, you can download and open unetbootin like you would any other windows install wizard and then use it to do a net-installation of the most recent fedora release:

but one of my friend install the server package of fedora 3 in his sata harddisk,

i want to tell u something that i collect that is the sata harddisk need some driver update for installing the fedora 3 is it true or false

if its true plz help me about that

if i use the update version of fedora then will it work on the sata harddisk ? or i need another tools to install

Yes, the more recent versions of Fedora will support SATA.
