what file systems have u tried to put on it? are all 8 gigs one big partition? it also may be possible that Xbox and windows may both be prebuilt w/ the driver needed for the xbox drive which may not be completely linux compatable or something.

its a western digital hard drive.like i said it works great in windows.ive tried removing all formats before install, ive tried auto install partions, set them up my self with / /boot & swap equally sized and different sizes.it just keeps saying not enough room on harddrive.is there another verson of linux that may be better to try? smaller perhaps?

After reading your first post a couple times I got a question do you have any unpartitioned space on your primary hard drive? I think the install will at least attempt to put /boot on whatever your main drive is.

that didnt work i think maybe its my disk is corrupt, the media check doesnt say it is,but im gonna download some more disks and try that.the install seems ok until,it says copying image, then it says your "error copying image, disk is probably full",so maybe the image in the disk has a problem,MAN THIS SUCKS!

slackware and debian can be put on w/ really small HD space...so can small distros like Delilinux, Feather Linux, Damn Small linux, and Peanut Linux. I would try Delilinux (since it is the smallest one designed for a hard drive install and not a live CD...only 90 MB) and see if you can install it...then you'll know if it is the hard drive or fedora.

P.S> the swap method mentioned on xbox-scene.com doesn't work!
