Cant get sound card to work
On kde startup i get this message:
Sound server informational message: Error while initializing the sound driver: device /dev/sdp cant be opened (no such device) The sound server will continue using the null output device. I learned from another post in this forum that i could type lspci to list all my cards and this is the output for my sound card (I think) : 00:07.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. AC97 Audio Controller <rev 50> I would post the hole message but i cant copy the text so i had to type manually. Why dont ctr+c work? Nether do i have an option if i right click on the selected text. |
try with the module Ensoniq AC97.. check in the kernel's config :)

Go the alsa homepage.
Do a search for your sound card. Follow the instructions. I just have a common intel i8x0 soundcard and I could find no way of getting it working other than loading the right modules, reinstalling alsa, amending the modules.conf, then adjusting alsamixer. |
