Ok seems the error lies with GRUB, what slackware are you trying? how are your hardrives setup (partitions, scsi?) where did you install GRUB ?

the EXACT error will help quite a lot, maybe it says error in LINE 14/15?

Why are you installing slackware? need something particular? ubuntu cant do something?? maybe we can help resolve these problems

If i were you I would stick with ubuntu. Slackware can be difficult for beginners. Do you still have ubuntu installed? maybe I/we/someone can help you with ur prob. Another place to try is open up irc (xchat) and go to #ubuntu

ahhh torrents, save me a fortune they do :P

bitorrent and media codecs aren't neccesarily going to work out of the box for slackware infact with my experience of slackware 10.1 it was less so than other distros.

a quick google gave me this http://ubuntuguide.org/

note there are sections devoted to azureus (my favourite bittorrent client) and media codecs...

give that guide a shot, you might pick up some other nice bits too, once you have tried you can always post your specific errors here for people to help you fix them.
