Can't get OpenGL to work

I've got a 1.3 Ghz processor with 256 MB RAM but for some reason anything with openGL won't work. My vid card is a GeForce 4 MX 420 so it should support it. the reason I believe that it's an openGL problem is because tux racer and a few other openGL games won't work. They skip alot and there is a lot of graphical lag. My 200 MHz system with a 16mb card ran it great. Any ideas of what to do?

you have to download and install the nvidia drivers....the generic drivers don't have the 3d capabilities....
there is a sticky thread in the LQ.org newbie fourm (the one where this post is located) and you can read MasterC's instructions....or you can read the readme file that is on nvidia's site, when you get the drivers from there...
