cant find stage2_eltorito file for creating bootable CD
 

hi...

i need to create a Cd with only GRUB bootloader nothing else. jst a cd with bootloader. i followed the steps given in

Making-a-GRUB-bootable-CD_ROM from GRUB manual

when i tried to copy stage2_eltorito file from /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/stage2_eltorito , it showed me the error as

mkisofs: Uh oh, I cant find the boot image 'iso/boot/grub/stage2_eltorito' !..


can anyone suggest me a solution...

hi...

i did as u said and got the grub into the CD,but a doubt. when i disconnect the hard disk and boot the system with cd i can't the boot prompt as
grub>

but when i insert the bootable floppy i got grub prompt.can u say me why is it so that when i boot with CD i don't get that...?

The boot image created from a working floppy should provide exactly the same boot procedure as the floppy. The only suggestion I can make is that the image is corrupt or the write to the cd was not good.
