cant edit xf86config file
 
when i open the file it wont let me edit...i try replacing with an edited one but it still wont replace i was gonna try to do it without the x-server but i dont know the command for delete what am i doing wrong?

are you opening it as root or your user?

You could try the console config.
Login as root and at the console type xf86config and answer all the questions. You need to know what hardware you have. This is very important or you could get thinks wrong.
Make sure you read all the text so you do not make any mistakes.

yep you've got to be logged in as root to edit that file or to delete/overwrite it.
