Cant connect to the net
hey guys,

im using ADSL connection... and the windowz is in the LOCAL network

the problem is that when i ping to 192.168.1.61 (my INTERNET machie -windowz) it replys back, but when i try to ping cyber (INTERNET machines name) it says "ping: unknown host cyber" and i cant ping to google.com too. and i need to connect to the internet from my debian... can anyone tell me how to do this ......................... hello, you can ping to your windows mahine b'coz its on your local network.....it has nothing to do with your internet connection. Sorry i can't help you out with ADSL connetion....b'coz i myself works with dial-up connetion. One thing is clear that you haven't conneted to internet yet through your debian machine......so check out how to configure it. do some search work to get information about "how to connect to internet using ADSL" regards |
