cant connect to the internet using pppoe on knoppix nor on damnsmall
 

Hello

I have an ADSL speedtouch modem which i can successfully connect to the internet on Mandrake and Suse. But if I use DamnSmallLinux and Knoppix to connect, I cant load a single website.
(Interesting to note that as what I have read, Mandrake and Suse are common in that they are based on Redhat while DSL and Knoppix are based on Debian)

Anyways heres what I did on both Damsmall and Knoppix:
1. i set up the netcardconfig by switching DHCP on.
2. set up pppoeconfig by entering my usrname n password and hitting ok to every option.

And I got the same results on both Damsmall and knoppix:
the pppoeconfig said the I was now connected (I forgot what it said exactly, but something like that). So I tried opening the browser to test my connection. To my surprise no page can be loaded. then i tried to ping my DNS and also nothing happened.

Anyone please help.
