I am having problems connecting to the Internet, i am new to linux and am having grate difficulty in getting connected.

I have a dual system configuration running XP and SuSe 9 quite happily. Unfortunately the system will not dial-up, i have checked all the settings I can think of. I have tried all of the com ports (although i know its on com3), i have checked that the modem is compatible, and can find no problem.

The log shows that the modem initializes but that no connection is made.

I have entered my current isp phone number which is Yahoo and configured it to the best of my knowledge.


Can someone please help !

Unfortunately I forgot to mention that i have a dial-up connection and it is this that i have a problem with.

Has anyone an idiots guide to tell me how to connect to the internet ?
