cant connect to super video(television)

i cant connect to super video(television)via a cable,i looked at other posts with same problem but cant understand how to apply this advice.thanks

thanks for response dude,at the risk of sounding like a moron,i only just started using linux, so i no nothing!!ive looked in all sorts of places in my laptop for related software or related menus but im not sure what im looking for really,so i havent tried many things im sure there are some simple steps to take but i have no idea what?im a carpenter man,i know wood real well, not computers!!can you help?
