Cant build Transmission Bit Torrent

Please help. I am trying (and failing) to compile Transmission from source.

It configures without errors. However, when I type make the following happens:

Code:
linux-azov:/home/steve/Transmission/Transmission-0.72 # make
make: Warning: File `mk/common.mk' has modification time 2.3e+06 s in the future
Checking SVN revision...
make[1]: Warning: File `mk/common.mk' has modification time 2.3e+06 s in the future
* Building libtransmission
make[2]: Warning: File `../mk/common.mk' has modification time 2.3e+06 s in the future
Checking dependencies...
make[2]: Warning: File `../mk/common.mk' has modification time 2.3e+06 s in the future
Checking dependencies...
The above error just keeps on going.

All advice aimed at a Noob most appreciated as this is my first time compiling from source.

Is there a RPM file for this package? I have googled to no avail. I am using Suse 10.2.

Thanks in advance
