cant boot mandrake 10 install
hi sorry if this has been answered in a previous thread but i tried searching and couldn't find anything.
i have just bought a copy of mandrake 10 download collection. its just the 4 download able ISO's that a local shop downloaded and put onto disk. there is: 2 installation disks 1 International disk 1 mandrake move disk i am wanting to make a dual boot with winxp that is already on my computer. i inserted the 1st install disk and made a boot floppy then restarted a blue screen saying "Press F1 for more options" and "Press Enter to install or repair" i pressed enter then a black screen came up saying boot failed: Please change disk and press a key to continue so i put the 2nd install disk in and it did the same thing the blue screen then black screen saying boot failed. i had read on here that some people had got it to work by starting with the 2nd CD first so i did that and got the same problem. if anyone has any ideas that would be great. i have never used linux before but have used windows 9x, 2000, and xp for a few years and done a few installs of 95 and xp both fresh installs on new pc's and reinstalls. some help would be greatly appreciated Alex |
